Numbness after medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty: Prevalence and effect on functional outcome
There is growing evidence in favour of medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (MUKA) as an effective treatment for symptomatic osteoarthritis of the knee that is limited to the medial compartment. The classic indications for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) were first highlighted by Kozinn and Scott in 1989 [1], before being further expanded upon by the Oxford group [15], which outlined an extended set of criteria for mobile bearing medial UKA based on the pathoanatomy of osteoarthritis (OA).
