High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is becoming increasingly popular as a treatment for single medial compartment osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee [1 –7]. This procedure can decrease the medial compartment pressure of the knee and thus relieve pain and regenerate cartilage to some extent [2,4,6,8,9].
