An archaeological project analyses informal commerce in the colonial Caribbean

(Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona) Konrad A. Antczak, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie researcher with the UPF Department of Humanities, is carrying out the project " ArCarib " , funded under the European Horizon 2020 programme. The archaeologist has made important discoveries on the islands of Cura ç ao and Bonaire in the southern Caribbean that exemplify the informal commerce that existed during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries between the Spanish colonies located on the coast of Venezuela and the islands' Dutch and Jewish residents.
