The Right Tools for the Job

My Dad was a carpenter. I credit him for my love of tools and enthusiasm for home do-it-yourself projects. Over the years I have built a workbench for our garage, rewired our doorbell, and installed new hardware on our front door. When my husband gave me an electric screwdriver for our first wedding anniversary, my father-in-law sternly advised him this was no way to stay married. The screwdriver was on my wish list … and it wouldn’t be the last time I’d surprise my father-in-law.
