Balanced by iron. Hereditary hemochromatosis and celiac disease.

We present the case of a 14-year-old adolescent diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis due to an alteration of the iron profile in routine laboratory tests. One year later, she began with diarrhea and abdominal discomfort, also confirming the diagnosis of celiac disease. Nowadays, she remains asymptomatic and without phlebotomies, but this could be necessary in the future when the celiac disease is corrected and therefore the associated iron absorption deficit too.
