Recurrent limbic seizures do not cause hippocampal neuronal loss: A prolonged laboratory study.

CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that the neuronal loss associated with limbic epilepsy precedes the onset of the seizures and is not a consequence of recurrent seizures.
