Long-term exercise adherence in patients with heart failure: A qualitative study
Participation in regular exercise for healthy adults is associated with several positive outcomes, such as reduced risk of mortality, decreased risk of depression, and reductions in health care spending.1 Yet, approximately half of American adults do not meet the recommended amount of weekly exercise.1 This issue is amplified for patients with heart failure (HF). The Heart Failure Society of America recommends patients with HF participate in 30 min of moderate intensity exercise in a supervised setting five-days per week.
