Lung ultrasound training to help rural emergency medicine providers diagnose COVID-19
(University of Arizona Health Sciences) The University of Arizona Health Sciences is developing a lung ultrasound education program for rural emergency medicine providers to better diagnose COVID-19 patients. Lung ultrasound can be particularly useful in rural EDs and the disparate populations they serve, as many lack CT scan capabilities or have limited access to COVID-19 testing. The UArizona College of Medicine - Tucson's Elaine Situ-LaCasse, MD, a National Foundation of Emergency Medicine scholar, is leading development of the training program.
