Cardiogenetic screening amongst families of sudden cardiac death victims

We were interested to read the article by Hansenet al.1 on investigating thediagnostic yield of cardiogenetic screening in families with all types of sudden cardiac death (SCD). The study yielded a diagnosis of inherited cardiac disease in 47% of families participating and found a low rate of serious cardiac events in relatives who were offered early treatment.
