Cesarean Myomectomy in the last ten years; a true shift from contraindication to indication: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Uterine leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of the uterus occurring in the women of middle age group after 35 years [1]. With increasing incidence of delayed childbearing in advancing age, there have been rising trends of pregnancy complicated with fibroid uterus [2]. Moreover, the increase in the rate of cesarean section (CS) also has led to increased confrontation of myomas during cesarean delivery by obstetricians [3]. Fibroid complicates pregnancy by posing a higher risk of abortion, second-trimester loss, preterm birth, malpresentation, and cesarean section [4].
