Trazodone as an Alternative Treatment for Neuroleptic-Associated Akathisia: A Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind, Clinical Trial

Conclusions Considering the antagonistic effect of trazodone on postsynaptic 5-hydroxytryptamine2A receptors as a possible mechanism of efficacy of this agent in the treatment of NAA, this study suggests that trazodone might be an effective and relatively safe drug.
