The antifungal and synergistic effect of bisphosphonates in Cryptococcus.
This study demonstrates the utility of targeting squalene synthesis for improving the efficacy of azole-based antifungal drugs, and suggests bisphosphonates are promising lead compounds for further antifungal development.
