The association of sleep quality and sleep duration with nutritional status in older adults: findings from the WCHAT study

Sleep health was defined as “a multidimensional pattern of sleep-wakefulness, adapted to individual, environmental and social demands, which promotes physical and mental well-being” [1]. However, sleep disorders such as poor sleep quality, too short or too long sleep duration are more prevalent as people age and become one of the most common health complaints among older adults [2]. The prevalence of sleep disorders in aged population differs in different areas, in some areas, the prevalence could be up to more than 50% [3].
