Patterns of changes of the flow-volume curve in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)
Conclusions: In DMD, flows and volumes are significantly lower than predicted since childhood, starting to be halved by the age of 15, while the flow-volume loop area three years earlier. The flow-volume loop area seems to be a promising index to early identify the deterioration of lung function in DMD, since it combined both volume and flow data.
