Freaky Video Shows What Looks Like Three Suns In Mongolian Sky

Everyone knows Earth has only a single sun. But you might not know it from this fascinating video posted Jan. 22 by The Guardian, which shows what appear to be three suns in the sky over Mongolia. Of course, it's really only our solitary sun flanked by streams of light known as sundogs, a.k.a. mock suns or parhelia. The strange phenomenon occurs when sunlight passes through airborne snow crystals. Sundogs tend to be most conspicuous when the sun is close to the horizon. Cool!
