25.4 climate change and child and adolescent mental health in asia, middle east, and north africa region: points to ponder
Climate change is a long-term deviation in the weather patterns and is a leading public health threat to vulnerable populations. In the Middle East, climate change is gradually increasing the environmental temperatures, and there is a concern that, in a few decades, several areas in this part of the world will be uninhabitable. These increasing temperatures lead to increased intensity and frequency of rainfall, coastal flooding, drought, hurricanes, and wildfires, and cause havoc on vulnerable communities and affect the most vulnerable populations, including children and the elderly.
