The teachable moment: partnering with pediatricians to expand integrated youth mental health care

There is an undeniable shortage of services for youth with mental health problems. To address this access-to-care issue, leading organizations such as AACAP and AAP have called for increased collaboration between pediatricians and child and adolescent psychiatrists, including through integrated care. Pediatrician education about youth mental health is a key component of integrated care. In this Clinical Perspectives, we will discuss innovative models for partnering with pediatricians to advance their mental health competency and youth mental health care.
