Electronic vaping device use in youth: predictors and risk factors, innovative prevention strategies, and how to effectively identify users

An electronic vaping device (EVD) involves the use of a battery-powered device to heat a liquid (e-liquid) that releases chemicals in an inhalable aerosol. Through this presentation, we aim to inform the audience about the evolution of the EVD, risk factors and predictors of EVD use, and how EVDs cause significant neuropsychiatric consequences when compared to traditional drug delivery devices (DDDs) such as smoking conventional cigarettes and the cannabis plant. This presentation also aims to update on how to utilize technology to systematically document vaping-related information through electronic health records (EHRs) and on innovative prevention strategies through video games.
