10.11 relations between inflammation and reward-seeking behaviors in youth with depression and obesity

To curb the rising prevalence of obesity and depression in youth, it is important to understand the underpinnings of their common co-occurrence. Aberrant reward processing and inflammation are implicated in both conditions and may explain this phenomenon. However, prior literature has not examined the effect of inflammation on depression severity and reward-seeking behaviors in youth with depression and overweight/obesity. To fill this gap, we examined relations among inflammation, depression severity, and reward-seeking behaviors in youth with depression and overweight/obesity.
