Evolving Brachytherapy Boost in Prostate Cancer in the Era of Hypofractionation
Radiation therapy (RT) for localized prostate cancer (PCa) has seen a rapid evolution of options to now include conventional fractionation, moderate and ultra-hypofractionation, and brachytherapy (BT) ± supplemental external beam RT (EBRT), in conjunction with risk-based use of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). This variety gives wide latitude to physicians and patients to select modalities best suited to their preferences, resources, and medical context while achieving largely equitable end r esults.
