Propafenone

Propafenone Propafenone is a Class Ic drug with targets INa, IKr and IKur currents as well as beta receptors and alpha receptors [1,2]. It can cause PR interval prolongation, QRS widening and an increase in the defibrillation threshold (DFT). Propafenone has a half life of 2- 10 hours, suggesting an eight hourly dosage. It is useful in the treatment of ventricular tachycardia (VT) and frequent premature ventricular complexes (PVC), in the absence of structural heart disease.
