Reliability of shoulder muscle stiffness measurement using strain ultrasound elastography and an acoustic coupler

ConclusionsWe found substantial intratester and intertester reliabilities for the trapezius and supraspinatus muscles, suggesting that USE represents a promising modality for measuring the stiffness of shoulder muscles. However, the clinical application of this method will require the development of a device that can standardize the scanning technique to further increase the reliability.
