Abstract Insulin therapy is an essential treatment for type 1 and uncontrolled type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the influence of chronic diseases (bronchial asthma, diabetes mellitus type 1 and hypothyroidism) on olfactory function in childhood, if any, seems to be insignificant. This is partly in contrast to adult patients.
