Risk Factors Associated with Primary Colorectal Cancer in Severely Obese Subjects and the Impact of Metabolic Surgery on Spontaneous Occurrence vs Hereditary Transmission: A Nationwide Case-Control Analysis
The most predisposing risk factors for Colorectal cancer (CRC) in an exclusively severely-obese-population remain to be elucidated. Additionally, the evidence regarding the relationship between CRC and diabetes mellitus (DM) is inconsistent. The primary objectives of our study are to determine the impact of bariatric surgery (BaSurg) on the probability of developing CRC and to define the primary risk factors in a severely obese patient population.
