Surviving a Broken Heart: A Case of Intraoperative Cardiac Arrest and Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy.

This report discusses a case in which a seemingly healthy patient presented for open abdominal hysterectomy and experienced intraoperative cardiac arrest requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy was diagnosed following resuscitation. This case examines risk factors and the intraoperative and postoperative management of a patient with Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
