Cervical Screening and Colposcopy Management of Women Age 24 and Under.

CONCLUSIONS: Despite the change in the screening guidelines, women under the age of 21 continue to be screened. This study highlights the low risk of ICC in women under age 25 and lays groundwork for re-examining screening guidelines for women in this age group. Furthermore, colposcopy referrals for women with a low-grade result on an index Pap test, and treatment of women under 24 years of age continue to be high. Future work must address the over-utilization of population-based screening, as well as factors related to adherence to screening guidelines. PMID: 32988802 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
