Femoseal ® versus Proglide® for the closure of retrograde femoral accesses: a randomized study

The vascular closure devices (VCD) tend to replace manual compression in order to provide sealing of arterial puncture at the end of endovascular procedures. VCDs shorten the time to hemostasis and the stay of the patient, authorizing early ambulation. STEP was the first study targeted on the patients treated by endovascular techniques for peripheral occlusive arterial disease (POAD) which compared two types of VCD.
