Use of artificial intelligence and massive data (big data) to identify the risk factors of open surgery to treat infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms: A pilot study

To evaluate the reliability of the techniques involving the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for big data analytics in clinical practice, we compared the traditional analysis (A) of electronic health records (EHR) with that using AI and big data (B) to identify the risk factors of open surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). The primary outcomes were the postoperative complications (death, acute impaired renal function, reintervention, colon ischemia) and the late complications (reintervention, chronic impaired renal function, graft infection).
