Evaluation of the long-term effectiveness of the endovascular treatment of type II endoleaks

The endovascular technique holds a dominating place in the treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms. Endoleaks are the most frequent complications, and are a therapeutic challenge. The endovascular treatment of type I and III endoleaks proved reliable in the reduction of the risk of rupture. Type II endoleaks, which are most frequent by far (> 20% of stentgrafts) should be treated if they involve a significant growth of the sac. Several therapeutic techniques were described, but the effectiveness and the durability of the treatment of type II endoleaks remains questioned.
