Facing higher demand for flu shot than usual, some health systems run short

Both Allina Health System and HealthPartners Inc. are seeing flu vaccine shortages at some of their clinics amid a higher-than-usual demand for inoculations. HealthPartners said it has run out of Fluad Quadrivalent, its vaccine for patients 65 and older, and is waiting on another shipment from manufacturer Seqirus Inc. which is expected to arrive on Oct. 7.
