Use of pain relieving drugs in community-dwelling older people with and without type 2 diabetes

The proportion of people aged 65 years and older will double during the next decades [1]. With its increasing prevalence, diabetes will accumulate in the older population. Chronic pain is an important comorbid condition linked to diabetes [2,3], and frequent use of analgesics is common among older people [4,5].
