Front Cover: Syringaresinol Protects against Type 1 Diabetic Cardiomyopathy by Alleviating Inflammation Responses, Cardiac Fibrosis, and Oxidative Stress

This study mainly demonstrated the cardiac protecting effect of syringaresinol against DCM and its potential mechanisms. Administration of syringaresinol could attenuate hyperglycemia ‐induced inflammation, fibrosis and oxidative stress and improve cardiac dysfunction. This protective effect might through prevention the invasion of immune cells and suppression of TGF‐β/Smad signaling pathway as well as activation of antioxidant Nrf‐2 system.
