A response to “Role of hydrogen peroxide injection for penetrating abdominal injury in creating CT Tractogram”

We applaud the efforts of VanFleet et al. [1] to use a novel approach for evaluating penetrating abdominal trauma. However, we are concerned that the authors neglect to describe the risks of using hydrogen peroxide in enclosed body cavities. Hydrogen peroxide can cause oxygen gas emboli in the venous and arterial circulation under these conditions.
