Inactivation of Ebola virus on stainless steel surfaces by microbicides
Background: Interrupting human-to-human transmission of Ebola virus through decontamination of surfaces by infectious virus should help reduce the spread of Ebola virus disease during outbreaks. We evaluated the efficacy of a variety of formulations containing microbicidal actives for inactivating Ebola virus - Makona strain (EBOV/Mak) on stainless steel carriers per ASTM E2197-11.
