HDR brachytherapy well chamber calibration and stability evaluated over twenty years of clinical use
The purpose of the study was to establish, using a retrospective analysis of existing hospital records, the long-term stability and accuracy of a high-dose-rate brachytherapy well chamber. This should be assessed to determine reliability and appropriate calibration frequency. The accrual of long-term data that demonstrates the stability of our chamber may inform others of the performance they might expect from similar equipment.

The aim of this work was to analyze the exposure rates measured in the proximity of patients who underwent prostate low-dose-rate brachytherapy with I-125 implant. Effective doses to relatives and to population were computed to estimate the time to reach radioprotection dose constraints.
Surgery, external beam radiotherapy (EBRT), and interventional radiotherapy (IRT, BrachyTherapy BT) are the current therapeutic options for nose vestibule (NV) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). In this article, we evaluate the nose functional parameters of patients affected by SCCs of the NV, primarily treated by interstitial IRT comparing them with healthy controls and with patients treated with intensity-modulated EBRT.

Abstract A new high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy program was initiated in a community hospital setting, with the goal of using magnetic resonance (MR) images with the implant in place during the planning process.
