People with Type 2 diabetes (T2D) are at high risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and microvascular complications. Obesity and dyslipidemia are common features of T2D [1]. In obesity, adipokine secretion from adipose tissue is dysregulated [2]. Adipokines have been shown to be associated with CVD [3] and diabetic microvascular complications [4].
