Assessment of laser-induced thermal damage in fresh skin with ex  vivo confocal microscopy

Laser-induced thermal damage is conventionally assessed using hematoxylin-eosin or nitrotetrazolium blue histology.1 This tissue processing introduces artifacts that may adversely affect image interpretation.
