EP News: Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology

Chatterjee et  al (Eur Heart J 2020;41:2878–2890, PMID 32533187) sought to identify an additional biomarker for patients suspected of having Brugada syndrome (BrS). Normal ventricular myocardial proteins were solubilized and separated by isoelectric focusing and molecular weight on 2-dimensional gels and used to discover autoantibodies by plating with sera from patients with BrS and controls. Target genes were identified by mass spectrometry. Immunohistochemistry was performed on myocardium from patients with BrS vs controls.
