AbstractSuperior soft-tissue contrast and high sensitivity of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for detecting and characterizing disease may provide an expanded role in acute abdominal and pelvic imaging. Although MRI has traditionally not been exploited in acute care settings, commonly used in biliary obstruction and during pregnancy, there are several conditions in which MRI can go above and beyond other modalities in diagnosis, characterization, and providing functional and prognostic information. In this manuscript, we highlight how MRI can help in further assessment and characterization of acute renal emergencies. Curr...

This study was aimed at investigating the use of ultrasound parameters obtained non-invasively through soft tissue (ST) to evaluate degeneration in cartilage and subchondral bone (SB) in the human knee. We developed a 3-D ultrasound system and introduced the ratio parameters Rcb and RcbT to suppress the attenuation effect in the ST or in both the ST and cartilage. As reference measurements, the grade for cartilage by visual judgment (Gsum) and ultrasound parameters for the cartilage and the SB were directly evaluated under arthroscopy.

CONCLUSIONS: Lung ultrasound in combination with hs-cTnT showed a better test accuracy than hs-cTnT alone and might guide clinicians to identify vascular patients at increased risk for MINS. PMID: 32959629 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

This study aimed to examine the effects of age on muscle morphology characteristics (muscle cross-sectional area [CSA] and echo intensity [EI]) and vertical jump height, power, and reactive strength index (RSI) in females. METHODS: Twenty-six young (22±2 years), 30 middle-aged (36±5 years), and 23 older (71±5 years) females participated in this study. Muscle CSA and EI were determined from ultrasound scans of the vastus lateralis. Countermovement jumps were used to assess jump height, RSI, movement time, and peak power (Pmax). RESULTS: Muscle CSA, jump height, and Pmax were higher for the young...

TheMalpani Baby Making kit is an extremely cost-effective option for couples who can't get pregnant because of sexual dysfunction; because of unexplained infertility; and those who have problems with scheduling intercourse during the fertile time because of their work commitments. While going to a doctor for treatment is always an option, this can be extremely expensive. You need to go to the doctor multiple times during one cycle , and the costs add up very quickly. Also, because the success rate is not 100%, you may need to repeat your treatment over many months .To add insult to injury, not only are doctor ’s ...

Conclusion: The integrated robotic system can place NBTU ablator at a desired target location in porcine brain and monitor the ablation in realtime via magnetic resonance thermal imaging (MRTI). Significance: Further optimization of this system could result in a clinically viable syste- for use in human trials for various diagnostic or therapeutic neurosurgical interventions.

Abstract OBJECTIVES: To present the characteristics of women attending a tertiary urogynaecology pelvic floor scan clinic with mid-urethral sling complications and examine the association between 2D perineal and 3D endovaginal ultrasound and symptoms. METHODS: A cross-sectional study of all women referred to a specialist pelvic floor ultrasound clinic from October 2016 to October 2018 with mid-urethral sling complications were included. They underwent a detailed history and had a 2D perineal (BK Medical, Herlev, Denmark, Type 8802; 4.3-6 MHz) and 3D endovaginal (BK Medical, Herlev, Denmark, Type 8838; 6-12 MH...
