HYPERTENSION remains a persistent worldwide problem for patients and healthcare providers. With recent changes in American Heart Association guidelines for hypertension management, it is likely that a greater percentage of patients will be prescribed antihypertensive medication.1 Among the various pharmacologic options used to treat hypertension, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) are first-line agents.2
