• SRD for aesthetic enhancement behavior has been evidenced in ultraviolet light tanning. • SRD for cosmetic procedure utilization may similarly exist and contribute to increased consideration and use of cosmetic treatments. Further validation efforts of SRD detection instruments are needed to e nable future research and clinical applications using such a tool.
