Evaluation of routine coronary angiography prior to pulmonary thromboendarterectomy.
CONCLUSIONS: In patients <50 years of age with CTEPH, the prevalence of significant CAD was low. Omitting preoperative coronary angiography in this subset of patients is reasonable when no coronary risk factors are present. Preoperative coronary angiography is warranted in individuals ≥50 years, as well as in those <50 years with significant risk factors for CAD.
