The Reply

Hale et al have drawn our attention to their excellent 2019 paper adapting Maslow's hierarchy1 to resident wellness.2 We were unaware of their work when we started our project in 2017 but found their adaptation and letter a delightful surprise. We suspect that both groups landed on adapting Maslow's work out of a hunger to more systematically address our colleagues ’ and trainees’ wellness.
