Magnetic Resonance Safety

Radiology is the most technically advanced and innovative medical specialty. Every day I marvel at our capability to create images with radiation, magnets, and “sugar.” We have been a victim of our success, and the importance of our specialty has resulted in higher volumes, faster throughputs, different magnet strengths, and new contrast agents. As we struggle to keep up with higher volumes and lower reimbursements and to adapt to an uncertain future, we must always remember that we have the responsibility to maintain a culture of safety for our patients and team members.
