Severe prolonged agitation due to intranasal naloxone overexposure

Naloxone is a frequently administered, life-saving medication. In the setting of the opioid crisis, there are efforts to increase naloxone availability to the general public. In this setting, it is important to ensure that the lay public has instructions for proper administration of naloxone [1]. The presented case details a severe reaction to inappropriate administration of naloxone, highlighting the need for naloxone prescribers to teach how, when, and how much naloxone should be administered in the setting of opioid overdose.
