HHS: Third Amendment to Declaration Under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act for Medical Countermeasures Against COVID-19

Notice of amendment from the Department of Health and Human Services to allow state-licensed pharmacists to order and administer, and certain pharmacy interns to administer, any vaccine that the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends for people age 3-18. Also clarifies the category of diseases, health conditions, or threats for which covered countermeasures should be used to include not only COVID-19, but also others conditions that may have been caused by COVID-19, including the decrease in the rate of childhood immunizations, which could lead to an increase in the rate of infectious disease. This amendment is effective as of August 24, 2020.
