Risk Factors for Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia: a case-control study in a multiracial population

According to this study, FFA was associated with moisturizers, ordinary (non-dermatologic) facial soap, and formalin hair straightening. Use anti-residue / clarifying shampoo and smoking were suggested as protective factors. FFA was not associated with sunscreens.
