Novant Health to offer new Parkinson's treatment at Mint Hill Medical Center, growing its investment in neurology
Patients struggling with tremors will soon have a less invasive treatment option.
Starting in September, Novant Health will offer a magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound treatment at Mint Hill Medical Center. The outpatient procedure treats essential tremor and tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease. It uses an MRI to find what is causing the tremor and then leverages ultra sound technology to treat the problem brain tissue with beams of sound-wave energy.
No incision or anesthesia is necessary.…
