Rural Employment Climbed from May to June but Remains 1.4 Million Jobs Below Last Year

Analyzes county-level job reports and finds that rural employment grew at a slower rate from May to June than the rest of the nation. Findings also show that compared to June 2019 employment rates, every county type has seen job loss this year, but rural counties saw a less pronounced decline, with COVID-19 affecting urban areas the most.
