Open letter: calorie labelling on restaurant menus will be both ineffective and psychologically damaging, Centre for Mental Health

Following the announcement of the Government ' s new obesity strategy, including proposals to add calorie labelling to restaurant menus, author and campaigner Hope Virgo has written an open letter to Matt Hancock (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) and Duncan Selbie (Chief Executive, Public Health England). In it, the undersigned highlight that such measures may be both ineffective in addressing obesity, and highly damaging to people experiencing or at risk of developing an eating disorder.
